Drop, a long-established company from the Marche region focused on the eCommerce world and now part of the Horsa Group, announces the acquisition of Playground, a Milan-based company specialized in digital experiences and customer engagement strategies.

This operation has a dual significance: Drop expands and completes its commerce and digital experience offering; at a group level, the acquisition represents another step forward in Horsa’s journey toward an increasingly mature martech proposition.

“We’re embarking on a new adventure that reflects the evolution of a mindset within the Horsa group—one that is increasingly focused on innovation and on generating value across multiple levels: experience, performance, and engagement,” comments Alfredo Celiberti, Head of Drop.

Beyond the financial aspect, the acquisition is part of a broader project aimed at creating an offering that seamlessly integrates strategic thinking, creativity and technology to support the needs of a market that is increasingly complex and constantly evolving.

“We have always believed that design and interaction are at the core of digital engagement,” say Matteo Cordini, Paolo Carravieri, and Gabriele Stroppa, board members of Playground. “With Drop and Horsa, we can finally push this concept beyond traditional boundaries and build experiences that not only work—but leave a mark.”

This move marks a further acceleration in Horsa’s strategy, reinforcing its position as a leading player in digital transformation. With over 2,000 professionals, €300 million in revenue, and more than 50 offices, the group continues to invest in innovation, integrating skills that span from artificial intelligence to augmented reality, from data-driven marketing to the creation of bespoke digital ecosystems.

Playground will be the go-to partner for Drop and Horsa in UI/UX design, interaction design, storytelling, and content strategy, while Drop will focus on advanced technology solutions for commerce and online experiences, the definition and engineering of e-business processes, e-commerce operations management, and performance marketing.

Together, the two companies offer a complete ecosystem for brands—covering everything from creative ideation to technical execution and performance optimization, including hands-on operational support. The offering is further enhanced by the Horsa group’s capabilities across multiple areas, including ERP, CRM, Data & Analytics, Cloud & Security, Marketing Automation, Retail, Supply Chain, and Software Development.

“This acquisition is not just a step forward—it’s an evolutionary leap,” emphasizes Nicola Basso, CEO of Horsa. “Being digital is no longer enough: we must create experiences with soul. With Playground and Drop, we are ready to redefine the future of digital communication.”
